Family owned & lovingly restored
“I remember going to a family lunch when I was a little girl at Mimosa Glen,” explains Sue as she recalls her first fond memories of this special Homestead.
Mimosa Glen is situated at the gateway to the Heathcote Wine Region, just an hour’s drive from Melbourne CBD.
Nowadays, Sue and David are the owners of Mimosa Glen and it’s their connection and understanding of the land that will make your stay here, a truly rewarding experience. You get the freedom of 16 Acres of open space, the stillness of nature and views of the rolling Tooboorac Ranges, with seemingly endless sheep and cattle grazing property.
It’s the quintessential country living experience!
Sue’s family are 5th Generation farmers that have made a living off the land. While still managing their own farm businesses, Sue and family take care of Mimosa Glen and open it for weekend Weddings, small intimate Weddings and accommodation.
You will receive a warm open-hearted greeting that only a local can provide, when you arrive at Mimosa Glen. This is because Sue loves to meet and greet her guests. She often shares her stories of the property, country life and the restorations they’ve made to the early 1880’s Homestead and surrounding gardens.
Their restorations have preserved many of the original features of the Homestead including the original floors in the bathroom and the claw foot bathtub. “The original craftsmanship was beautiful and worth retaining,” Sue explained. You will get a taste of days-gone-by with spacious Victorian style lounge with open wood fireplace. Classic country-style surrounding timber verandas and all of the creature comforts of clean and comfortable living spaces.
You too can make heartfelt memories at Mimosa Glen to last a lifetime. Just like the lifetime of memories Sue and family have here in the Country.
Mimosa Glen is a representation of Sue’s enduring dedication to Victoria’s Heartland Countryside. This includes: its history; its sustainability; its beauty; its local produce; its community and the realisation of a place where you can just be! In fact, you can simply enjoy the moment of really being alive!
It is the perfect atmosphere for a Country Wedding, group celebration or stay. Because of Sue’s practise in sustainable gardening and property management, you can have an eco-ethical wedding or event too.
The Woolshed has authentic country charm and is also freshly restored inside and out. Picture yourself star-gazing billions of stars by night or the majestic countryside by day, while you and your guests celebrate. It’s a remarkable space for Country Weddings, Receptions and any events.
We like to highlight that you are more than welcome to put your own personal touches to any event or stay here at Mimosa Glen.

“Mimosa Glen is the exquisite and historic homestead experience”
“It takes a bit to out-do nature at Mimosa Glen. The spectacular landscape features incredible rock formations and dramatic granite boulders – seemingly strewn across the countryside. Mimosa Glen is set against the backdrop of the McIvor Ranges. Because of the beautifully restored Homestead to stay in, Mother Nature is definitely the supporting actress to Mimosa Glen’s star billing.
“This is history served with panache, interior styling with an eye to detail. Most importantly, it has an inherent sense of how to make guests immediately feel welcome, relaxed and `wowed’. The Homestead features three bedrooms, two sitting rooms and eat-in kitchen. It’s designed for friends to enjoy memorable meals and lots of laughter. There’s even an outdoor dining room complete with open fire.
“Our suggestion? Walk to the nearby McIvor Estate Wines to stock up on some Heathcote Shiraz. Merindoc Cellar Door and Cafe are just down the road, and many other Heathcote cellar doors are within easy reach. If food is your thing, the restaurants of Kyneton are only half an hour away.
“Back at Mimosa Glen, there is also a gorgeous self-contained two bedroom cottage, plus The Woolshed function room. We loved the whole experience and now just need an excuse to book out the whole property. Upcoming birthday, yoga or art retreat, or perhaps a wedding? The options are endless.”
